Bali United failed on start after losing in home to PSS Sleman with a score of 0-1 in the BRI Liga 1 Indonesia 2023/24 at Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar.
Bali United and PSS Sleman struggled to penetrate their respective lines of defense early in the first half. The two teams have not been able to get the ball to meet their respective nets until the game has been running for more than 10 minutes.
Super Eagle Jawa finally got a golden opportunity some time ago. Ricky Cawor sent a swivel kick to the left side of Bali United’s goal after receiving a corner kick, but Adilson Maringa managed to save the round skin he sent.
An almost similar scenario was presented again in the 18th minute. Ricky Cawor scored another shot that could potentially harm Bali United’s net. The advantage for the home team was that this action was again countered by Maringa.
Entering the 23rd minute, it was Serdadu Tridaru’s turn to spread threats near the visitors’ goal. Privat Mbarga moved past the PSS defense, before releasing a shot that targeted the far post. However, the effort failed to convert into a goal because the ball was slightly wide of the PSS net.
After that, Bali United and PSS Sleman got several good opportunities. However, none of them were successfully converted into numbers until near the end of the first half. As a result, the score lasted 0-0 until halftime.
Entering the second half, Bali United immediately had a nightmare from PSS Sleman. Super Elang Jawa managed to break the deadlock in the 48th minute due to a blunder made by Serdadu Tridatu’s staff.
It was Ricky Cawor who played the first point contributor for his team. The 25-year-old player moved unguarded and fired a long-range shot at Bali United’s goal, at the same time changing the temporary position to 1-0 for the visitors’ advantage.
Soldier Tridatu, who was still stuck until 60 minutes, finally initiated the change. Stefano Cugurra made a substitution by pulling out Ardi Idrus and sending in Muhammad Rachmat.
Bali United finally got another chance in the 65th minute. Eber Bessa, who was near the PSS Sleman box, was quite free to shoot because there were no opposing players blocking. Unfortunately, the ball he sent hit the goalpost, thus failing to produce a goal.
Serdadu Tridatu got another chance in the 74th minute. Rachmat, who was in front of goal, managed to reach the ball and make a header . Poor, horn less strong. The ball he sent only bounced on the ground before being secured by Anthony Pinthus.
Serdadu Tridatu failed to catch up until the end of the second half. Four minutes of added time was not enough for Teco’s team to score an equalizer. The 1-0 score for PSS Sleman’s victory did not change until the end.
