Kim Pan-Gon, head coach of Malaysia national team will need to put their best foot forward for the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2024.
Malaysia has drawn in Group A along with Thailand(defending champions), Singapore, Cambodia, and the winner of the qualification round between Brunei DS and Timor-Leste.
“It’s an interesting draw as we will be facing defending champions Thailand. Another challenge will be neighbours Singapore,” KPG said.
“We will also be facing Cambodia and another team that will enter from the qualification match.”
“So we will try to get the best manpower to build the best team and fight for this Cup,”
However, top teams Johor Darul Ta’zim and Selangor FC are likely not to release their top players during the tournament period because the period is similar to fixtures of Asian club competitions, are AFC Champions League Elite and AFC Champions League 2, and therefore for Pan-gon need to recruit the best available players to compete.
ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2024 is set to kick off on 23 November – 21 December 2024.
