Kim Pan-gon, Head coach of Malaysia national team is confident aims to collect at least 7 points for qualify to the AFC Asian Cup 2023 on merit based on the results of the official qualifying round draw last week.
“Honestly, this is not an interesting vote and it will be more difficult. The match against Turkmenistan is pretty important and we need to get 3 full points.” Pan-Gon said
“We also cannot lose against Bangladesh. We are targeting 7 points to be in a worthy position (for the 2023 Asian Cup),”
“It will be a difficult journey but we will increase the challenge to be in the finals. We need strong support from the supporters.”
“The weather, the environment and the stadium, this is all an advantage to us. We will use this advantage to advance to the 2023 Asian Cup, ”
Malaysia, were drawn in group E, will open their qualifying campaign against Turkmenistan (8 June), Bahrain (11 June) and Bangladesh (14 June). All these matches took place at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
In this round, only the 6 group champions and the 5 teams best second-place will get tickets to the AFC Asian Cup 2023 in China along with 13 other teams that have confirmed places earlier.
