Malaysia’s world No. 4 mixed doubles pair, Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei, produced a scintillating performance to book their spot in the semi-finals of the Japan Open 2025, brushing aside Japan’s Yuichi Shimogami and Sayaka Hobara in straight sets.
Playing at the Metropolitan Gymnasium in Tokyo, the Malaysian duo needed just 31 minutes to seal a commanding 21-14, 21-12 victory — even racing to an astonishing 15-0 lead at one point in the second game.
Their ruthless performance underlined their growing confidence on the world stage and sets up an exciting semi-final showdown against the formidable world No. 2 Chinese pair Jiang Zhen Bang and Wei Ya Xin.
