Indonesia national team played its first match in 2024, losing to the Libya national team, scoring 0-4 in the friendly match at Titanic Mardan Stadium, Antalya.
The first half lasted two minutes, and Indonesia immediately threatened. Saddil Ramdani fired a hard shot from outside the penalty box. Unfortunately, the Libyan goalkeeper was still alert to hold the ball.
Libya did not remain silent. The captain, Ahmed Ekrawa, fired a shot from close range in the sixth minute. Unfortunately, Ekrawa’s shot was narrow on the left side of the Indonesia goal, guarded by Syahrul Trisna Fadillah.
Ahmed Ekrawa had another chance in the 19th minute. This time, his shot attempt from outside the penalty box was still caught by Syahrul Trisna Fadillah.
Indonesia’s game is still not on fire. There are still a lot of primary mistakes, it’s easy to lose the ball, and it’s easy to lose when there’s a counterattack.
Indonesia’s goal was finally broken in the 25th minute. This time, Syahrul Trisna failed to block Ahmed Ekrawa’s attempt shot and landed in the goal.
Indonesia had a good opportunity in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, none of the players were ready to welcome Dendy Sulistyawan’s good cross.
In the remainder of the first half, both teams launched attacks on each other. However, the score remained 0-1 for Libya until the referee blew the whistle to signal the end of the first half.
Indonesia made an interesting change. Shin Tae-yong decided to withdraw 10 players who started this match, leaving Syahrul Trisna, who was still retained.
Indonesia had a golden opportunity in the 50th minute. Adam Alis’ hard kick hit Libya’s goalpost.
Libya scored a second goal in the 54th minute through Ahmed Ekrawa’s header. However, the goal was disallowed because the referee believed there was a violation during the goal.
Starting from Justin Hubner’s pass error, Indonesia’s goal was broken again in the 57th minute. Omar Alkhoja was free to break into Syahrul Trisna’s goal.
Indonesia tried to find a goal in the remainder of the second half. However, Shin Tae-yong’s team seemed to have difficulty entering the Libyan defense area.
At the end of the second half, Libya added two more goals. Unfortunately, the two goals came from mistakes by Justin Hubner and Jordi Amat.
Until the match was over, neither team scored any more goals. Indonesia had to accept a 0-4 defeat to Libya.
