"Humble But Ambitious" – Arribas Vows JDT Fight to Jeonbuk
Johor Darul Ta'zim star Oscar Arribas insists the Southern Tigers are fully prepared for the South Korean giants and will focus on imposing their own attacking brand of football.
Johor Darul Ta'zim are well aware of the massive challenge that awaits them against K-League heavyweights Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in the AFC Champions League Elite 2026/27 League Stage(East Zone). However, the Malaysian champions are refusing to be intimidated.
Speaking alongside head coach Xisco Muñoz at the pre-match press conference, JDT attacker Oscar Arribas emphasized the squad’s intense tactical preparations and their unwavering determination to secure maximum points away from home.
"We know that tomorrow is not going to be an easy game. We prepared well during this week and we know they are a strong team," Arribas told the media. "But we are thinking about our own game. We will try to give our 100% to get the best result."
Echoing Muñoz's tactical assessment, the 28-year-old acknowledged Jeonbuk's collective defensive structure but specifically pinpointed two major threats that the Southern Tigers' backline must neutralize.
"I don't like to single out one player because the most important thing in any team is everyone. Every player has a distinct ability, but for me, it's their number 95 and number 10. They have exceptional abilities and, as the coach said, incredible speed," he explained.
Despite the looming threat posed by the home side's wingers and playmakers, Arribas remains highly confident in JDT’s current momentum and mental resilience on the continental stage.
"Tomorrow we are going to try to show our football to all the fans. I think we are on a good path. We are humble, but with the ambition to get a good result," Arribas concluded.
