Hector Bidoglio, head coach of Johor Darul Ta’Zim emphasized the team’s philosophy of equality, asserting that “there is no substitute player” within his squad.
The Argentinian coach’s comments came following JDT’s dominant 3-0 win over Ulsan Hyundai in the AFC Champions League Elite (ACLE) match on Tuesday, where forward Jorge Obregon was replaced by Bergson da Silva, who contributed significantly in the win.
Bidoglio elaborated on his approach, highlighting his view that every player holds equal importance to JDT. “Today (against Ulsan HD), JDT showed great work, potential, and played well throughout the match. I am very pleased,” he said. “In my team, there is no such thing as a substitute player. Every player here is on the same level. They’re all motivated to play for the boss, Tunku Ismail Idris, Acting Sultan of Johor.”
The Argentinian manager also credited Tunku Ismail for his invaluable support, saying, “Our boss is exceptional because he always finds the right time to motivate both the players and staff. I am very happy at this club.”
JDT’s performance against the South Korean champions was indeed a testament to their unity and quality, with goals from Arif Aiman, Oscar Arribas, and Bergson da Silva securing a well-deserved 3-0 victory. This win further bolstered JDT’s position in the ACLE and showcased the depth of talent within Bidoglio’s squad.
