Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah, Malaysia’s seasoned motorcycle racing ace, is fully prepared for the ultimate challenge as he competes in the ASB1000 class finale of the 2024 Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) in Buriram, Thailand.
Riding the formidable Ducati Panigale V4R, Hafizh enters the decisive round in third place overall with 137 points, just five points behind championship leader Yuki Kunii of Japan.
With a total of 50 points up for grabs across the weekend’s two races, Hafizh remains confident about his prospects, backed by months of meticulous preparation and a bolstered support team.
“I am ready to fight in Buriram,” Hafizh asserted. “The preparations over the last two months since the previous round have been solid, both physically and mentally. The team has been working hard to provide the best machine for me, and we’ve also brought in additional Ducati crew members to support us for this crucial race.”
This marks Hafizh’s second appearance in Buriram this season. The first round in March saw mixed fortunes for the rider: a technical issue hampered his performance in Race 1, but he bounced back with a runner-up finish in Race 2, showcasing his resilience and adaptability.
Hafizh’s return to the ARRC this year has been a high-stakes endeavor, but his experience in MotoGP and WorldSBK has provided him with a strong foundation.
“Even with my experience in more prestigious championships, every new competition brings its own learning curve,” Hafizh acknowledged. “The ARRC features world-class riders, making it highly competitive and demanding. Adapting to this unique environment has been both a challenge and an opportunity.”
The ASB1000 category, the championship’s premier class, has been a tight contest throughout the season. Hafizh trails Kunii and Andi Farid Izdihar (Indonesia) by just a handful of points, making the final round a true test of skill, strategy, and stamina.
Hafizh is determined to capitalize on his Ducati Panigale V4R’s raw power and the insights gained from previous rounds. With his exceptional racing pedigree, a committed support team, and months of focused preparation, he is set to challenge for the ASB1000 crown in Buriram.
Fans can look forward to a thrilling weekend as Hafizh and his rivals—Kunii, Andi, and Thailand’s Nakarin Atiratphuvapat—battle it out on the world-class Chang International Circuit.
