Malaysia Hockey National team keeps first point after tying Pakistan Hockey National team scoring 2-2 in the Hero Asian Champions Trophy 2024 round-robin matchday 1 at Moqi Training Centre, Hulunbair.
Pakistan, ranked 16th in the world, took an early lead through Sufyan Khan’s penalty corner goal in the 26th minute. Zikriya Hayat then doubled Pakistan’s advantage with a field goal just six minutes later.
However, Malaysia responded strongly, with Faizal Saari reducing the deficit with a penalty corner goal in the 37th minute. The equalizer came in the 56th minute when Nik Muhammad Aiman Nik Rozemi stepped up as the hero, ensuring that Malaysia avoided defeat.
Malaysia will look to build on this performance as they face China in their second match of the tournament tomorrow.
