Indonesia national team play in the first game in June, tied Palestine National Team with a score of 0-0 in the International Friendly ‘A’ Match at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya.
Indonesia is still trying to find its rhythm. However, it was Palestine that got the first chance, precisely when Mahmoud Wadi welcomed Mousa Farawi’s cross.
During the first 15 minutes, Palestine did more of its attacks through high passes. Luckily, every potential threat can be properly secured by Elkan Baggott et al.
The Garuda squad’s first chance in this match came in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, Dimas Drajad’s shot which was released from inside the penalty box was still secured by the opposing goalkeeper.
Five minutes later, Dimas again had another chance through Marselino Ferdinan’s through ball. However, the execution was again well anticipated by Rami Kamal.
In the 31st minute, it was Marcelino Ferdinand’s turn to get the chance. Unfortunately, the mature bait provided by Rafael Struick failed to be maximized. His kick can still be ignored by the Palestinian goalkeeper.
Rafael also had time to try his luck in the 39th minute. He fired a hard shot using his left foot in the penalty box, but was still pushed over by the opposing goalkeeper.
Until the referee blew the whistle marking the end of the first half, no goals had been created by each side. The points score lasted until halftime.
In the second half, Indonesia almost conceded in the 49th minute through a corner kick scheme. Luckily Tamer Seyam’s header was controlled by Syahrul Trisna even though he had created chaos in front of the goal.
Yakob Sayuri actually had a golden opportunity to break the deadlock for the Red and White squad through a quick counter-attack scheme. Unfortunately, his shot can still be blocked defender Palestine.
Shin Tae-yong’s squad was quite dominant in the second half. Meanwhile, Palestine is more reactive. They launched a counterattack when they got the chance.
Shin Tae-yong had changed the composition of his team. Ricky Kambuaya, Marselino Ferdinan and Dimas Drajad were pulled out. He included Ivar Jenner, Saddil Ramdani, and Witan Sulaeman for refreshments.
The rhythm of the Garuda squad game had decreased after the middle of the second half. The Indonesian national team plays more waiting and mini creates opportunities.
Towards the final minutes, Marc Klok and his friends had to struggle to withstand the onslaught of Palestinian attacks. They were forced to play defensively and looked uncomfortable with the ball.
Until the referee blew the long whistle signaling the end of the match, the Indonesia and Palestine national teams were still unable to break the deadlock. The match ended in a goalless draw with a score of 0-0.
