Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has confirmed that it has received the full written judgment from the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) regarding the disciplinary decision related to the documentation and eligibility issue of seven Malaysian national team players.
Following the receipt of the official judgment, FAM announced that it will formally submit an appeal through the prescribed legal channels. The governing body emphasized that all necessary documents and supporting evidence have been fully compiled and are ready to be presented to FIFA without delay via the proper procedures.
FAM expressed serious concern over several conclusions made in the judgment, particularly the allegations that the players “obtained falsified documents” or intentionally sought to circumvent eligibility rules. The association firmly stressed that no evidence supporting these claims has been presented by FIFA.
According to FAM, all player eligibility documents and submissions were prepared, verified, and managed entirely by FAM in strict compliance with established regulations. At every stage, the players acted in good faith, relying on FAM’s verification and registration processes.
“FAM views the portrayal of these allegations as inaccurate and unfair. We will address this matter comprehensively through the official appeal process,” the association stated.
FAM reiterated its unwavering commitment to defending the integrity of Malaysian football, safeguarding the rights of its players, and ensuring the entire process is conducted transparently and in full accordance with legal and sporting frameworks.
The association further clarified that the case involves official information related to Malaysian government procedures for the issuance and verification of passports. In accordance with the Official Secrets Act 1972 and the Passports Act 1966, any disclosure of related materials or processes without proper authorization is strictly prohibited.
As a result, FAM is legally bound to maintain confidentiality over these elements and will only share the relevant information directly with FIFA for the purposes of this case.
FAM reaffirmed that it will exhaust every available legal avenue to ensure justice is served and Malaysia’s football reputation is upheld on the international stage.
