The wife of Selangor footballer Faisal Halim, Nur Syazwani Mizuana Shahril, has publicly confirmed that she has filed for divorce from the national winger, ending weeks of speculation surrounding their marriage.
In an emotional statement shared via Instagram Story today, Nur Syazwani opened up about the struggles she has endured and the difficult decision she was compelled to make.
“My decision today is based on what I have gone through and my own life. I know my life better than anyone. I have sacrificed my entire soul for my family — from hardship to success, from being unknown to being admired, from illness back to health and at his best again. It was never easy for me,” she wrote.
She revealed that this was not the first time she had faced the pain of separation.
“I have been divorced before. I tried to protect this marriage, but there has been too much interference and too many obstacles in my life.”
Despite her efforts to salvage the relationship, Nur Syazwani admitted that the challenges became insurmountable.
“Today’s action was not an easy decision to make. I tried, but perhaps this is the best path. My mother was asked to take me back — I was returned to my mother. Though it breaks my heart, I followed his wishes.”
Her statement has cast fresh light on the personal struggles behind the scenes of one of Malaysia’s most high-profile footballers. Faisal, affectionately known as “Mickey” among fans, has been a central figure for Selangor FC and the Malaysian national team, celebrated for his explosive pace and flair on the pitch.
With the revelation from his wife, the focus now shifts not only to Faisal’s football career but also to the personal challenges he faces off the field. Neither Faisal nor Selangor FC has issued an official statement regarding the matter.
