Spain national team clinched the 4th title of this tournament after beating England national team scoring 2-1 in the UEFA EURO 2024 final at Olympiastadion, Berlin.
In the action, the squad managed by Luis de la Fuente lined up the best eleven with sensational players, Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams and Alvaro Morata leading the attack machinery.
Both teams countered each other’s attacks at the beginning of the competition by displaying an open game pattern, but failed to make accurate attempts to each other’s fortress.
The best chance came through Phil Foden’s attempted set piece at the end of the first half but was saved by goalkeeper Unai Simon.
Continuing in the second half, Spain finally opened the scoring through Williams’ finish in the 47th minute after receiving Yamal’s pass.
Shocked by the goal, the Three Lions made a change to bring on Ollie Watkins and Cole Palmer.
The decision paid off as England’s attacking machinery came out fresher with Palmer scoring the equalizer in the 73rd minute after receiving Jude Bellingham’s pass.
However, luck was not in England’s favor when La Roja scored the winning goal in the 86th minute as a result of substitute Mikel Oyarzabal’s finish from Marc Cucurella’s pass.
The 2-1 result remained until the end of the match, thus seeing England lose for the second time in the Euro final stage in a row after the 2020 edition.
The victory saw La Roja end their 12-year wait to become champions for the fourth time after dominating the 1964, 2008 and 2012 editions.
