Esteban Solari, head coach of Johor Darul Ta’Zim, confirmed that he would still continue the fight to protect his team’s dignity despite considering the action as a match that did not give any advantage when the two teams were no longer eligible to play in the round of 16.
Johor Darul Ta’Zim was officially eliminated after losing to Kawasaki Frontale 0-5 in the last 2 weeks due to can’t escape of Ulsan Hyundai, 2nd ranked team in the group.
“They are lined up with quality players in the team, and even throughout the 12 league games in Thailand, they only lost one game, and to face them the second time is certainly challenging because every ACL action is really difficult.” Solari said.
“But it’s a bit unfortunate when I have to forget the two main pillars, namely Corbin Ong and Shane Lowry, who have to be sidelined in tomorrow night’s match after suffering injuries during the recent Malaysia Cup final and all due to the bad pitch at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil, ”
“Players like Danilo Alves and Igor Sergeev besides them are lined up with good defenders, but we will play as usual, adopting a high-intensity pattern and absorbing whatever strength the opposing team has to balance the strong playing pattern,”
