Round 3 of the Asia Champions League (ACL) will be played tomorrow, where both champions from their respective countries, Johor Darul Ta’zim (MAS) and Ulsan Hyundai (KOR), will face each other in tomorrow’s match.
The head coach of JDT, Esteban Solari, said that this match is essential and a key for them to qualify for the next round, “We know this is important for us, we look forward to this match. We know we are playing against the champion of the Korea League – Ulsan Hyundai, but we believe in our aspiration and preparation to play against them.”
Together with the head coach to attend the Press Conference today, the JDT defenders La’vere Corbin Ong said they are relatively new to the competition.
“Just to reiterate, what the coach says is our aspiration to qualify for the next round. Although we are relatively new to this competition, it doesn’t mean that we don’t have to fight for the qualifications.”
“We have prepared this game for the past ten months, and we have been working on the game. We are ready, whether physically or mentally, to face this game.”, said the Head Coach.
Asking about the early preparation for the team, Esteban said, “To tell you the truth, it’s a long trip to come to Korea. We know we must get used to the weather here, the pitches. However, we suffered some national team players like Corbin Ong after two days of playing. We took the risk, and we knew that we would have all these problems. And we knew that we are, and we can say, fully recovered.”
“We cannot complain about the pitch as we played outside. We are focused on the good things, and we are prepared as I can see that the players are hungry as they want to prove themselves as this is a competition for them to showcase their ability, so I am very confident.”, said Esteban.
The JDT defender La’vere Corbin Ong said he thinks that many aspects have changed since they played Ulsan last year in Malaysia, and they are looking for revenge here in Korea, but the JDT players are confident.
Johor Darul Ta’zim is on the 2nd of Group I with 3 points, and Ulsan Hyundai is behind them with the same points.
