Daniel Bennett, former Singapore national team defender of Tanjong Pagar United became the oldest goalscorer in the Singapore Premier League at the age of 44 years 239 days in a yesterday match (3 September) VS Hougang United.
In this match, Bennett’s goal gave the clubs an equalizer with Hougang United in the 25th minute of the game, before the two sides split 3-3 in the 23rd Singapore Premier League game of the season.
Daniel Bennett holds the record for the oldest goalscorer in the AFC Champions League at the age of 43 when he scored against Gamba Osaka with Tampines Rovers in the 2021 season.
Bennett is British. Naturalized and served for the Singapore national team since 2002, he held a record 141 caps for the Singapore national team before announcing his retirement national team in 2017.
