Leo Chiangrai United sent a request letter to Thai League Co., Ltd. to postpone the Thai League 1 2022/23 matchday 25 between Leo Chiangrai United and Port FC on 4 April due to air pollution from PM 2.5 particulate matter exceeding the standard value
Currently, northern areas in many provinces are facing the problem of particles PM 2.5 in the air that exceeds the standard value which comes from the burning of forests in the northern region of Thailand Including border areas in the border of Myanmar and Laos.
And in the area of Mueang Chiang Rai District Which is the location of the Leo Chiang Rai Stadium, the home stadium of the club has an average PM 2.5 airborne particulate about 500 µg/m3, which is considered a dangerous level and cannot do exercise or activities outside the building.
The Leo Chiang Rai United Club has sent a letter to Thai League Co., Ltd. to postpone the competition with the message that
“Because Leo Chiang Rai United Club has a training ground located in Chiang Rai. which during the past 1-2 months in the area of Chiang Rai There are dangerous levels of air pollution. Especially since March 26, 2023, there has been a 24-hour average PM2.5 air pollution level reaching 480 micrograms per cubic meter. and is expected to continue to rise As a result, the football players of the club Unable to practice Which affects the preparation for the next football match on April 4, 2023, meet with Port FC Club at Leo Chiang Rai Stadium
Therefore, Leo Chiang Rai United Club would like to ask for your courtesy and sympathy. Consider postponing the said competition as you see fit. for fairness to the club and look forward to your courtesy.”
