Malaysian rising star Hakim Danish delivered a determined performance to finish P12 in the Practice session of Moto3 2026 Round 2 at the iconic Autódromo Internacional de Goiânia – Ayrton Senna.
The session marked a historic moment for the championship, as MotoGP returned to Goiânia for the first time since 1989, adding extra significance to the opening day in Brazil.
Representing AEON Credit – MT Helmets – MSi, Hakim began the day cautiously in FP1, finishing P13 with a best lap of 1:34.914 on a wet track.
Heavy rain earlier in the morning forced a one-hour delay, leaving riders to contend with low grip and unpredictable conditions.
Despite the challenges, the young Malaysian showed composure and adaptability throughout the session.
As track conditions improved, Hakim found his rhythm and significantly lowered his lap time to 1:30.989 — shaving nearly half a second off his earlier effort.
He ended the session just +0.729 seconds off the pace, underlining his growing competitiveness at the international level.
At the top of the timesheets, David Almansa of Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP set the benchmark with a 1:30.260.
Although finishing inside the top 14, the format means Hakim now faces a tougher route heading into Qualifying, where he will compete in Q2 as he aims to secure a strong grid position.
