Palestine national team made history by advancing to the round of 16 for the first time in this tournament after beating the Hong Kong national team, scoring 3-0 in the AFC Asian Cup 2023 Group Stage, Group C at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium.
The first half was in Palestine’s favor when Makram Daboub’s squad managed to lead the match with a goal through the goal of the sensational Palestinian striker, Oday Dabbagh.
A cross from the captain of the Palestinian team, Mosab Batat, was neatly completed by Oday Dabbagh for the opening goal of the match.
Continuing the action in the second half of the game, Palestine continued to expand its position through Zeid Qunbar’s goal. Hong Kong goalkeeper Tse Ka Wing was once again beaten through the net from a header.
Not stopping until then, Palestine continued to add to Hong Kong’s grief when they doubled the score again through Oday Dabbagh. Oday was quick to pounce on the puck that hit the crossbar to ensure a glorious night at the Abdulla bin Khalifa Stadium belonged to Palestine.
Despite several attempts and attacks from the Hong Kong camp, John Andersen’s squad still failed to score any goals.
Action ended, Palestine recorded a stylish victory over Hong Kong with a result of 3-0.
