Jordan national team made history in the final for the first time after beating Korea Republic national team, scoring 2-0 in the AFC Asian Cup 2023 Semi-Final at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium.
In this match, Jordan is the side open attack with more opportunities.
But in the 18th minute, Korea Republic almost got the leading goal when Son Heung-Min chipped the ball overhead Yazeed Abulailah, goalkeeper Jordan to the goal but was caught offside.
In the 29th minute, Korea Republic awarded a penalty following Yazan Al Arab conceded a foul to Seal Young-Woo. But the referee checking VAR found it not a foul and cancelled the penalty.
In the 32nd minute, Korea Republic almost got 1st goal again after Lee Jae-Sung showed a somersault kick, but the ball hit the post.
In the remaining time of the first half, there was no additional score, ending the first half both tied 0-0.
In the second half, in the 53rd minute, following Jordan’s attack and Mousa Tamari passing the ball to Yazan Al Naimat’s shot into the goal, Jordan led 1-0.
In the 66th minute, following a fast break of Jordan and Nizar Al Rashdan passing to Mousa Al Tamari’s shot to the second post, Jordan led 2-0
In the remaining time, Korea Republic found opportunities to get goals but did not score, ending Jordan winning 2-0 and advancing to the Final.
In the Final, Jordan will face a winner between Iran and Qatar.
