Malaysia’s premier motorcycle racer Hafizh Syahrin made a powerful statement ahead of the 2025 Asia Road Racing Championship season 2025 by clocking the fastest time during the official pre-season test at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand.
Representing the JDT Racing Team, Syahrin dominated the opening day of testing on Wednesday by setting a blistering lap time of 1:36.415 minutes in the first of three practice sessions. The impressive performance placed him 0.319 seconds ahead of Indonesia’s Andi Farid Izdihar, who races under the Astra Honda Racing Team banner.
Thailand’s Nakarin Atiratphuvaphat, riding for Honda Racing Thailand, claimed third fastest with a time just 0.525 seconds off the pace, while his compatriot Apiwat Wongthanannont of A1 Energy BMW Racing Team continues to fine-tune his machine as he adapts to a new racing setup.
Syahrin’s pace reflects his growing synergy with the JDT Racing Team machinery and signals a serious title charge in the coming season. Known for his MotoGP experience and aggressive racing style, Syahrin’s return to Asian circuits has already begun to shake up the ARRC grid.
With strong contenders like Andi Farid and Nakarin in hot pursuit, the battle for ARRC supremacy in 2025 is already heating up – and Hafizh Syahrin has fired the first warning shot.
