Reds claim first win of the campaign with 2-1 victory in Pathum Thani

Adelaide United came from behind to beat BG Pathum United 2-1 in Group F of the AFC Champions League Two 2026/27 at Pathum Thani Stadium on Thursday. Ethan Alagich’s 77th-minute goal gave the Reds their first win of the campaign.

BG Pathum went ahead after only two minutes. A quick counter-attack ended with Patrik Gustavsson squaring the ball to the middle for Marin Jurina, who fired in at the near post.

Adelaide levelled in the 10th minute from a corner. Craig Goodwin struck from outside the box to make it 1-1.

BG Pathum nearly regained the lead in the 34th minute. Jonathan Scherzer’s cross found Jurina in the centre of the box, but his header went just wide to the left. The teams went into the break level.

Adelaide came close to going ahead in the 56th minute when Juan Muñiz hit a shot from outside the box, but goalkeeper Saranon Anuin saved it.

The Reds kept up the pressure and were rewarded in the 77th minute. Muñiz slipped the ball to Alagich, who shot into the top corner at the near post to make it 2-1.

The result lifts Adelaide to second place in Group F with four points from two games, after they took one point from their opening match. BG Pathum have one point from two matches and are third.
