
Malaysia U17 national team climbs to the top of the table of Group B after defeating Indonesia 5-1 in Stadion Pakansari Bogor, Indonesia, today. Indonesia decided to play behind closed doors for respect and mourning for the deceased from the Kanjuruhan Tragedy.
The first goal Malaysia U17 national team scored was by Zainurhakimi Zain in the 17th minute, when the right flank crossed the ball beautifully to Malaysia’s striker. After 2 minutes, Arami Wafiy achieves a counterattack initiated by Malaysia’s defenders. The score was 2-0 in 19 minutes.
Then in the 23rd minute, Malaysia’s player Anjasmirza scored a shocker, although Indonesia’s defender surrounded him. Then in the 26th minute, Malaysia scored again. Afiq Danish, assisted by Zainurhakimi Zain, curved and crossed into the box, letting Afiq Danish score. The score was 4-0 when in 26 minutes of the game.
The coaches’ panel made a double substitute for team Indonesia in the 30th minute. Then, in the 34th minute, Indonesia had a free kick chance. The taker crossed the ball smoothly into the box, but unfortunately, Malaysia’s goalkeeper blocked it out of the box.
In the 36th minute, the referee decided to give a penalty to Malaysia, where Anjasmirza got down after Indonesia’s harsh tackle. Arami Wafiy of Malaysia’s U17 stepped up to take the spot kick, and he scored. Malaysia has 5, whereas Indonesia remains 0.
In the second half, both Malaysia and Indonesia played more aggressively. Although Malaysia won 5-0 in the first half, it never stopped them from searching for another score.
In the 86th minute, Malaysia’s defender committed a foul, thus giving Indonesia a free kick near the box. The taker took a direct free kick; unfortunately, Malaysia’s keeper saw and saved it. Indonesia remains 0.
The referee gave three minutes of extra time in the 89th minute. Indonesia is still searching for a goal. In the 91st minute, an Indonesian player tested the keeper, and the ball rebounded out of the keeper’s range. Arkhan Kaka grabbed the chance and scored. Indonesia 1, Malaysia 5.
Malaysia now has 10 points in Group B, whereas Indonesia has 9 points and is sitting second in the group.
