Saudi Arabia national team advanced to the round of 16 after beating Kyrgyz Republic national team, scoring 2-0 in the AFC Asian Cup 2023 Group Stage, Group F at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium.
The first half saw Saudi Arabia open the scoring in the 35th minute of the game. The opportunity presented in the penalty area was perfected by Mohamad Kanno for the opening goal.
Kyrgyzstan had to concede after two pillars of the team, Akmativ and K. Merk, were shown red cards by the match referee. Stefan Tarkovic’s men were seen struggling to perform in the remaining minutes of the game after only playing with nine players.
The action in the second half continued to be lively with continuous attacks launched by Saudi Arabia.
The extra goal was finally successfully produced by Saudi Arabia in the 84th minute of the game through Faisal Al Ghamdi’s long-range attempt. Faisal’s fast shot failed to be saved by the Kyrgyz goalkeeper, Tokotayez, thus ensuring the victory for Saudi Arabia.
The remaining time of the second half had no additional score, ending Saudi Arabia won 2-0.
