Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Selangor FC, confirmed will be upgraded MBPJ Stadium, Petaling Jaya, the home venue, to meet all required standards.
Previously, Selangor FC fans were concerned about MBPJ Stadium after the team’s success in securing a slot for the AFC Champions League 2 (ACL2) season 2024/25 due to that stadium did not meet the standards of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Stadium Regulations to be used as a venue for matches organised by the AFC.
“We are working closely with the MBPJ Stadium (and) the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) to upgrade some of the facilities at the stadium,” Dr.Johan said with Sukanz.
“The work will start soon and hopefully before the start of the new season, from the fourth month God willing there will be some improvements such as seats, lighting, PA system , roof, water source and so on,”
“We do have a list of things that we are working on with MBPJ to upgrade this stadium to be more in line with the prestige of ACL2,”
Following the efforts and upgrades as well, Dr. Johan expressed confidence as high as 95% that MBPJ Stadium will be used as a home for Selangor FC to perform in the ACL2 scene.
