Kim Pan Gon, head coach of the Malaysia national team, is looking for a minimum of 12 points for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Asian Qualifiers Round 2 is enough for qualified to Round 3.
He stressed that being one of the 18 best teams in Asia is indeed their objective, and the move starts with the first action against Kyrgyz Republic at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium tomorrow night.
“This is a big challenge for us because Malaysia is ranked 137th in the world. Other countries will surely laugh when we aim to be the 18 best teams in Asia but this is our dream.” Pan-Gon said in a Pre-Match press conference.
“We want to challenge the best team in Asia. So if we can get 12 points, that’s good enough. But if we get 13 points, that’s even better,”
“This match is very important for us so we want the supporters to fight together. We need their support and they need to come to help us realize our mission to become the 18 best teams in Asia.”
“We have to create an atmosphere that scares Kyrgyzstan because without the presence of supporters, we cannot do that. I hope they can come to support us,”
