Sepang – Beach sports have a high number of fans, and surely, it will also be a tourist attraction to enjoy the beach in Malaysia.
In order to realize this goal, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris through Exco Sports and Recreation by Harun Aminurrashid College has organized the IPT Ultimate Frisbee Open that takes place in Bagan Beach Serai by bringing ‘Lawak Campus as a theme of programme.
Programme took place on April 21 with the involvement of 216 participants from various institutions of higher education and communities.
The Ultimate Frisbee Open programme also involves collaboration from several teams including Sepang Municipal Council, Red Scorpion Upsi, Kuala Lumpur Flying Dish Association, Malaysia Flying Disc Association, UPSI Health Centre and Kadokawa Gempak Starz.
Dr. Haji Che Anuar Che Abdullah, Pengetua KHAR stated that the involvement of IPT students illustrates that beach sports have a great attraction and are capable of becoming the leader of national sports success.
“I believe the initiative not only has an impact on the development of beach sports, but it can also boost the economy by attracting more tourists to enjoy our beaches.” He said.
According to him, this organization proves that UPSI is always committed to leading the innovation that is being carried out with students to improve the ecosystem of unity through education, sports and economics programmes.
In this tournament, the HaPeace Ultimate and Guerilla Ultimate teams advance the league charts in their respective groups. The Malaysian national team did not miss the opportunity to join the IPT Ultimate Frisbee Open in preparation for the World Frisbee Championship to be held in Japan in June.
