Paris Saint-Germain, a club from France have finally etched their name into European football history, lifting their maiden UEFA Champions League 2024/25 trophy with a stunning 5-0 demolition of Inter Milan, a club from Italy in a one-sided final at the Allianz Arena.
The highly anticipated clash saw both teams arrive with the ambition of securing their first-ever UCL crown. However, it was PSG who rose to the occasion in emphatic fashion, delivering a dominant performance from start to finish.
Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi ignited celebrations early, putting PSG in front in the 12th minute with a close-range finish inside the Inter penalty area. The momentum remained firmly with the Parisians as teenage sensation Désiré Doué doubled their advantage in the 20th minute after latching onto a superb assist from Ousmane Dembélé.
PSG went into the break with a commanding 2-0 lead, and they showed no signs of slowing down in the second half.
Doué returned to the scoresheet in the 63rd minute, completing his brace with a composed finish to make it 3-0. Just ten minutes later, Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia broke Inter’s offside trap and rifled home a powerful strike past Yann Sommer to stretch the lead further.
Youngster Senny Mayulu put the final nail in Inter’s coffin with a fifth goal in the dying moments, sealing a night of brilliance and ending the Italian club’s dreams of a European triumph.
The final whistle confirmed a commanding 5-0 victory for PSG — not only securing their first UCL title in club history but also setting a new record for the biggest winning margin in a Champions League final.
