Terengganu FC has officially secured the services of Akhyar Rashid as a regular player, confirming the talented winger’s commitment to the club until 2027.
The announcement was made on Wednesday by the club’s management, signaling a significant boost for the East Coast team as they prepare for key matches in the 2024/2025 season.
“Akhyar Rashid has officially signed a contract with Terengganu FC which will keep this player with the club for up to two seasons,” stated Terengganu FC.
Previously on loan from Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), Akhyar joined Terengganu alongside Safawi Rasid and Azam Azmi, who are also on loan contracts. His permanent move comes after a season where he made a substantial impact on the team’s performance.
This season, Akhyar has featured in 28 matches for Terengganu, scoring eight goals and providing four assists. His consistent performances have been instrumental in helping Terengganu climb to 4th place in the Malaysian Super League standings.
The winger’s dynamic playing style and ability to influence the game in crucial moments have not only improved Terengganu’s attacking options but also won the hearts of fans and management alike.
Akhyar’s permanent signing is a morale boost for Terengganu supporters, particularly with the first leg of the Malaysia Cup semi-final looming. The clash against his former club, JDT, is set to take place at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium in Gong Badak this Friday.
