Selangor win the gold medal of Men’s Futsal event in Sukan Malaysia(SUKMA) 2024 after won Sarawak scoring 5-3 in the final match at Kota Samarahan Indoor Stadium, Kuching.
Selangor started the match with great intensity, taking the lead in the first minute through Danish Faiz Hashim, who capitalized on a teammate’s pass to beat Sarawak goalkeeper Mohammad Syukimi Farizan.
Sarawak attempted to respond with counter-attacks, but Selangor’s defense held strong. Despite creating several chances, Sarawak’s nervousness led to lost opportunities in front of the goal.
Motivated by the promise of additional incentives from team manager Datuk Bakhtiar Aliff Ibrahim, Selangor continued to play consistently.
Although Sarawak’s goalkeeper made several impressive saves, Selangor finally extended their lead in the 36th minute when defender Ahmed Haziq Haikal fired a powerful shot, securing a second goal and confirming the gold medal for Selangor.
Previously, the Perak team won the bronze medal after beating Pulau Pinang with a score of 5-3.
