Sri Pahang FC Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Datuk Mohammed Suffian Awang, has expressed full confidence that the Tok Gajah squad is ready to face Johor Darul Ta’Zim in the Unifi Piala Malaysia 2024/25 Final, scheduled for 12 April 2025 at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, Kuala Lumpur.
Datuk Suffian emphasized that the Malaysian Football League (MFL) made the decision after carefully considering key factors, including JDT’s progress in the AFC Champions League Elite (ACLE). He acknowledged that JDT’s success on the Asian stage plays a significant role in boosting Malaysian football and should be accommodated.
“I have been informed that the Unifi Malaysia Cup final will be held on April 12. Everyone knows that this date still falls within the Aidilfitri celebration period, but I believe it is the best available date as decided by MFL.”
“Additionally, with JDT’s achievements elevating Malaysia’s name internationally, it is only fair to allow them the space to compete at the highest level. Regardless, I am confident that Sri Pahang FC is prepared to rise to the challenge.”
Datuk Suffian also highlighted that the remaining Super League matches will serve as crucial preparation for the final. He trusts that head coach Fandi Ahmad and his coaching staff will strategize effectively, despite the possibility of missing key players.
Calling on the Tok Gajah faithful, Datuk Suffian urged fans to turn out in full force at SNBJ and provide unwavering support for the team in their quest for glory.
“This is football, and we will be facing the best team in the country. We need our 12th player—our loyal supporters—to create an electrifying atmosphere and drive the team forward.”
