Lion City Sailors’ Abdul Rasaq has chalked up five goals in eight games in the on-going domestic Singapore Premier League, and he will be looking to continue his good form on the international stage.
Head coach Philippe Aw said, “The final 20 players were chosen as they had displayed great commitment, hunger and discipline throughout the centralized training. Most importantly, they were also chosen based on our tactics and game plan in mind.
“The boys will be facing four challenging teams in Cambodia, and they are raring to go. I am confident that they will provide a tough challenge for their opponent and continue to push on until the final whistle. Given their attitude they have displayed so far, I know they will be playing with fighting spirit and a never-say-die attitude.
Team captain Harhys Stewart also added, “It is a privilege to don the national jersey and represent our country. All of us understand this and know what is at stake. Anything can happen in football, and we got to believe in ourselves and each other that we can perform and carry out the coach’s plans accordingly in Cambodia.”
