Selangor FC has officially announced a landmark collaboration with Haro Sports & Entertainment Sdn. Bhd., uniting the world of professional football and international motorsport through an exclusive partnership with SUPER GT Malaysia for the upcoming 2025/26 season.
This strategic alliance is set to bridge two of the most passionate sports industries — football and racing — offering fans a one-of-a-kind experience while elevating Selangor FC’s brand to the international stage.
Although this isn’t Selangor FC’s first foray into motorsport collaboration, the 2025/26 season marks a new chapter, with both parties aiming to deliver immersive and culturally rich sporting experiences for fans of both disciplines. The collaboration not only deepens the Red Giants’ presence across borders but also injects fresh commercial and entertainment opportunities into Malaysian football.
SUPER GT, a world-renowned Japan-based GT racing championship, features elite car manufacturers in two major classes — GT500 and GT300 — across eight thrilling rounds annually. While seven races take place in Japan, the eighth and only international round will be held in Malaysia, from June 26–28, 2025, at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, marking its first return in 10 years.
In a rare crossover between sports, Selangor FC 2025/26 Grandstand Season Pass holders will receive exclusive access to the SUPER GT Malaysia event at Sepang. These fans will have the unprecedented opportunity to watch the high-speed action from the grandstand, immersing themselves in one of the most prestigious motorsport events in Asia.
Adding to the excitement, the event will host the Nihon Matsuri, a vibrant Japanese cultural festival featuring food, performances, and traditional experiences. Meanwhile, Platinum Partners of SUPER GT Motorsports and Haro Sports will be granted Skydeck access at Selangor FC home matches at the MBPJ Stadium, allowing VIP guests to experience Malaysian football from a premier vantage point.
Dr. Johan Kamal Hamidon, Chief Executive Officer of Selangor FC, expressed strong optimism about the partnership:
“I truly believe this collaboration will create something extraordinary. Football and motorsport may seem worlds apart, but both hold unique fanbases and cultural significance. By merging the two, we’re opening a new dimension for both sports and delivering unforgettable experiences for our loyal supporters. The fact that fans can enjoy a world-class racing event like SUPER GT is something we’re incredibly proud to offer.”
He also emphasized the long-term value in exploring creative content and commercial synergies, pushing the boundaries of sports entertainment and digital engagement to grow both Malaysian football and motorsport globally.
Echoing this sentiment, Fahrizal Hasan, CEO of Haro Sports & Entertainment Sdn. Bhd., added:
“We’re thrilled to act as the bridge between Selangor FC and SUPER GT Malaysia. Our aim is to solidify the relationship between football and motorsport in ways that benefit both parties. This partnership sets a precedent, and we hope it inspires more bold, creative collaborations in the future. We are fully committed to bringing this vision to life.”
More than just a promotional tie-up, the collaboration is poised to become a symbol of unity and a celebration of cross-cultural sportsmanship. It reinforces Selangor FC’s position as one of Malaysia’s most forward-thinking football clubs and highlights Haro Sports’ role as a key innovator in sports entertainment.
