Richmond Boakye-Yiadom, a striker Ghana national team has officially join with Selangor FC in the second leg of Liga Super Malaysia 2023.
Richmond Boakye-Yiadom, better known as Boakye (pronounced as Bo-a-chi) professional career began when he was 16 years old with Genoa in the Italian Serie A during the 2009/2010 season. In the 2012/2013 season, he was one of the players who helped Sassuolo FC become the Italian Serie B champions thus ensuring their promotion to the Serie A for the very first time in the club’s history.
In season 2018/19 Richmond move to join Red Star Belgrade in Serbia. His team was crowned Serbian Super Liga Champions for two seasons in a row, which was during 2018/2019 and 2019/2020. He helped RSB win the SuperLiga by scoring 13 goals in 15 matches during the 2018/2019 season. In total, Boakye has scored 43 goals and 11 assists in 63 matches.
“I will train hard, give a big commitment to the team to win together. For me, without fans, there is no team. I’m here to be part of the fans and the club. To create history and leave a legacy.” Richmond said with Selangor FC.
“I also intend to open the opportunity to make something better so that players from Ghana and Africa will have more opportunities to play here,”
