Port FC announced themselves as champions of the 2025/26 Thai League Cup in dramatic fashion after grinding out a hard-fought 1-0 victory over BG Pathum United in the final at Thammasat Stadium, Pathum Thani.
In a tense and fiercely contested showdown, Brazilian forward Lucas Tocantins emerged as the hero for Port FC, scoring the decisive goal that delivered the club’s second Muang Thai Cup crown and capped off a memorable campaign in style.
Both sides entered the final with attacking intent, trading possession and pressing aggressively from the opening whistle. However, despite the early intensity, neither team was able to carve out a clear breakthrough during the opening stages.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 29th minute when Lucas Tocantins burst down the right flank before unleashing a clinical finish beyond the BG Pathum goalkeeper. The strike ignited celebrations among the Port FC supporters as the Bangkok giants seized a crucial 1-0 advantage.
BG Pathum attempted to respond immediately, pushing numbers forward in search of an equaliser, but Port FC’s defensive organisation and discipline proved difficult to penetrate.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with both teams continuing to attack aggressively in pursuit of goals. BG Pathum pressed hard to get back into the contest, while Port FC looked dangerous on the counterattack.
Despite several promising moments from both sides, neither team managed to alter the scoreline as Port FC held firm until the final whistle to secure a famous victory.
