Morocco U23 national team crowned bronze medal after beating Egypt U23 national team scoring 6-0 in the Bronze Medal Match in Men’s Football event of Olympic 2024 at La Beaujoire Stadium, Nantes.
The match saw Morocco take control early, with Ezzalzouli, who plays for Real Betis in Spain, opening the scoring with a superb goal from inside the box midway through the first half. Rahimi doubled the lead shortly after, heading in a cross from Ezzalzouli.
In the second half, Morocco continued their offensive onslaught. El Khannouss added a third goal with a well-placed shot from outside the box, and Rahimi scored his second of the match to make it 4-0, after controlling a pass from Ilias Akhomach before heading it in.
Rahimi, who was a standout player with four goals, later assisted defender Akram Nakach for the fifth goal. The final goal of the match came from Hakimi, who scored a stunning free kick from 30 meters out, three minutes before the end.
Morocco’s victory marked their 17th goal in six matches throughout the tournament, highlighting their attacking prowess.
Hosts France will face Spain in the gold medal decider in Paris early tomorrow morning.
