Malaysian Football League(MFL) has announced a reduced punishment for Selangor FC to remain just fined and pay costs to the home team.
Members of the Board of Directors of the Malaysian Football League (MFL) have today used their discretion to reconsider the decision made on 24 June 2024 against Selangor FC following the club’s non-attendance at the Piala Sumbangsih 2024/25, which is also the first action of the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 against Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT ) at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on 10 May 2024.
This reconsideration was done as a sign of love and respect for His Majesty the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
So, the following are the decisions of the MFL Board of Directors:
- Fines reduced from RM100,000 to RM60,000.
- Compensation payments for losses incurred by the home team JDT and MFL are maintained.
a) MFL will collect the information and costs submitted by JDT and the MFL Secretariat before submitting it to Selangor FC for further review and discussion. - The deduction of three (3) points in the 2024-2025 Super League competition is cancelled.
a) However, if Selangor FC repeats the same offence, then this case will be brought to the disciplinary committee and stricter and harsher punishment may be imposed. - The ban on spectators entering the Super League (LS14) match involving Selangor FC against JDT at the Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium is cancelled.
a) Spectators are allowed to attend the match.
The period to make an appeal is for three (3) days from the date of this letter (27 June 2024) as stated in Rule 4, Rule 3, Rule Enforcement Body Rules, Malaysian League Manual.
