Round 2 of the PETRONAS MAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship which took place at the Tangkak Motor Sports Complex today saw HONDA ESTREMO YUZY RACING rider Azroy Hakeem Anuar set the fastest time in the CP150 qualifying session 2.
Azroy started the action in qualifying session 1 with the fastest time of 44:912s placing himself in fourth position under Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin from PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA MAJU MOTOR who recorded the fastest time of 44:463s in first place followed by MD Akid Aziz from PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA – CKJ RACING and Shahrol Syazras Shahrol Yuzy from HONDA ESTREMO YUZY RACING respectively with the fastest times of 44:507s and 44:803s.
In qualifying session 2, the competition grew fiercer as each rider continued to improve his time records, seeing the names listed at the top with the fastest records often changed. However, Azroy managed to record the fastest time of 43:442s while taking first place.
According to Azroy, “Alhamdulillah, we started with qualifying session 1 earlier in semi-dry and semi-wet conditions, and this time we performed in qualifying session 2 which was completely dry. We struggled a bit from the morning because we wanted to find adjustments for wet conditions and dry, and thank God everything works perfectly.”
“I’ve given 100%, to make sure there is another improvement for the time record it might be a bit difficult, however the mechanics team will try to find better adjustments than today, and hopefully tomorrow we can be in the same position as today.”
In second place is Akid with the fastest time at 43:480s.
Kasma posted the third fastest time at 43:503s.
AZROY SETS FASTEST TIME IN TANGKAK
Round 2 of the PETRONAS MAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship, held at the Tangkak Motorsports Complex today, saw HONDA ESTREMO YUZY RACING rider, Azroy Hakeem Anuar, clocking the fastest time in CP150 qualifying session 2.
Azroy began his action in qualifying session 1 with a fastest time of 44:912s, placing himself in fourth position behind Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin from PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA MAJU MOTOR with the fastest time of 44:463s in first place, followed by MD Akid Aziz from PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA – CKJ RACING and Shahrol Syazras Shahrol Yuzy from HONDA ESTREMO YUZY RACING with fastest times of 44:507s and 44:803s respectively.
In qualifying session 2, the competition intensified as each rider continued to improve their lap times, resulting in frequent changes in the top position. However, Azroy managed to clock the fastest time of 43:442s, securing the first position.
According to Azroy, “Alhamdulillah, we started with qualifying session 1 earlier in half wet and half dry conditions, and this time we raced in fully dry conditions for session 2. We struggled since morning to find adjustments for both wet and dry conditions, and thankfully everything worked perfectly.”
“I gave it my all to ensure further improvement in lap times, which might be somewhat challenging, but the mechanics will try to find better adjustments than today, and hopefully, we’ll be in the same position tomorrow.”
In second place was Akid with a fastest time of 43:480s.
Kasma recorded the third fastest time at 43:503s.
SYAMIL AND DANIEL ARE THE FASTEST AT CP125
Meanwhile, in the CP125 category, PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA – 31 RACING rider, Md Syamil Amsyar Md Iffende was the fastest in the A qualifying session.
Syamil displayed a fairly consistent performance starting from practice session 1 A where the circuit was in wet conditions. Syamil placed himself in third position with the fastest time of 49:830s and took second position in the second practice session in dry conditions at 45:924s.
In the qualifying session A, Syamil appeared to have had a good machine adjustment when he recorded the fastest time of 45:798s while placing Abdullah Qayyum Abd Razak from JETRON YAMAHA YYPANG RACING TEAM who recorded 45:942s and Md Norhakim Md Norhafizullah from ONEXOX TKKR RACING TEAM in 45: 964s in second and third place.
Syamil said, “Alhamdulillah, this is the first time I was able to be in the group to grab the ‘Pole’ position for the qualifying session. For today’s weather here I just accept it, regardless of rain or heat I face it and keep fighting, and I am determined to do the best for my team this year.”
While the qualifying session B saw a surprise from the rider of ONEXOX TKKR RACING TEAM, Danial Johan when he recorded the fastest time of 46:067s at the same time beating Md Farish Iqmal Khayrul Elyas from HONDA KC RACING who is expected to dominate the action when he took first place in both practice sessions 1 and 2 respectively with the fastest times of 50:144s and 46:129s.
Danial shared, “This round 2 we set a lot of targets since we haven’t tasted victory in a long time. In the process of finding the best setup for tomorrow’s race, from morning to with the rainy weather we still can’t get the best setup. When the track started to dry, we tried a lot of different setups and then we started focusing on doing the timing. If it rains tomorrow, no matter what, we have to try our best, because I see other teams have improved, the time gap is getting closer, so we have to be good at finding room to excel tomorrow.”
In second place was Farish with the fastest time of 46:270s.
PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA – 31 RACING rider, Md Adam Haikal Jahar recorded the third fastest time at 46:324s.
SYAMIL AND DANIEL TOP IN CP125
Meanwhile, in the CP125 category, PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA – 31 RACING rider, Md Syamil Amsyar Md Iffende, showed his pace in qualifying session A.
Syamil demonstrated fairly consistent performance starting from training session 1A where he positioned himself in third place with the fastest time of 49:830s in wet conditions. He then secured the second position in training session 2 in dry conditions with the fastest time of 45:924s.
In qualifying session A, Syamil seemed to have found a good setup for his bike as he clocked the fastest time of 45:798s, surpassing Abdullah Qayyum Abd Razak from JETRON YAMAHA YYPANG RACING TEAM with a time of 45:942s and Md Norhakim Md Norhafizullah from ONEXOX TKKR RACING TEAM with a time of 45:964s in second and third positions respectively.
Syamil said, “Alhamdulillah, this is the first time I’ve been in the group to compete for the ‘Pole’ position in the qualifying session. I accept the weather conditions here today, whether rain or shine, I face it and continue to fight, and I am determined to do my best for my team this year.”

Farish took second place with a fastest time of 46:270s.
PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA – 31 RACING rider, Md Adam Haikal Jahar, recorded the third fastest time at 46:324s.
ADIB ON WEATHER CHALLENGES
Next in the KBS Hero category, YAMAHA ESTREMO 27 RACING rider, Md Adib Arsyad Md Hisam successfully overcame the challenge of changing weather when he showed improvement by recording the fastest time in the qualifying session.
In practice session 1 Adib with the fastest time of 50:248s took third place then recorded 46:751s to be second in practice session 2 under Farres Putra Md Fadhil from PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA – 31 RACING who dominated both practice sessions with fastest times 50:027s and 46:650s.
Akui expected Farres to continue to excel, but Adib kept trying to improve the time record and finally with 46:615s Adib placed himself in first place.
Adib said, “Thank God, thanks to my team who provided good machinery, worked hard to find a good setup for me, including my family who never stopped supporting me. I tried as best as I could, and to be honest I didn’t think I would get pole because I expect Farres to be on pole. I’ve had a fever for almost a week. I hope that tomorrow’s race will improve, and I’ll try again for tomorrow.”
I’ve had a fever for over a week, 5 days like that. I hope everyone prays for me to have more bokeh for tomorrow.”
Farres clocked 46:669s to take second place.
Md Al Syakir Zufayri M Al Amirul Zaki from WINBOX KM+ AXLA filled the third place with a time of 46:928s.
ADIB OVERCOMES WEATHER CHALLENGE
Next, in the Wira KBS category, YAMAHA ESTREMO 27 RACING rider, Md Adib Arsyad Md Hisam, successfully overcame the challenge of changing weather conditions by demonstrating improvement with the fastest time in the qualifying session.
In training session 1, Adib clocked the fastest time of 50:248s, placing third, then recorded 46:751s to be in second position in training session 2 under Farres Putra Md Fadhil from PETRONAS SPRINTA YAMAHA – 31 RACING who dominated both training sessions with fastest times of 50:027s and 46:650s.
Acknowledging Farres’ expected continued excellence, Adib continued to try to improve his lap times and finally with 46:615s, Adib placed himself in first position.
Adib said, “Thank God, thank God, I like to thank my team for providing a good bike, tirelessly searching for the best setup for me, including my family who never stops supporting me. I tried my best, and honestly, I didn’t” t expect to get pole because I expected Farres to get it. I’ve been suffering from fever for almost a week. I hope my condition will improve for tomorrow’s race, and I will try my best again for tomorrow.”
Farres clocked 46:669s to be in second place.
Md Al Syakir Zufayri M Al Amirul Zaki from WINBOX KM+ AXLA filled the third position with a time of 46:928s.
