Selangor FC’s revenge from the last match after invading to beat Terengganu FC with a score of 4-0 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2023 at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium, Gong Badak.
In that match, Tan Cheng Hoe’s visiting squad got the first goal in the eighth minute from former TFC player from last season, Faisal Halim, but the hosts were lucky after the goal was canceled by the referee, Ahmad Zuhadi Dzulkifli because he was seen as offside.
In the 21st minute, TFC had the opportunity to take the lead through Nurillo Tukhtasinov’s shot from outside the penalty box, however the goalkeeper, Samuel Somerville, was more willing to parry the ball.
The visitors’ continuous efforts finally paid off in the 26th minute when Yohandry Orozco got the ball from his teammate, Alexander Ameyaw, who shot fast from outside the penalty box to beat goalkeeper, Rahadiazli Rahalim to give his team a 1-0 lead.
In the 41st minute, Orozco once again made his name as a scorer when he easily beat the defense before denying the ball into the goal after Mukhairi Ajmal Mahadi’s shot was thrown off the goalkeeper’s catch to give his team a 2-0 lead.
Realizing they were two goals behind, Steinbruckner brought on his main striker, Ivan Mamut and defender, Muhammad Alif Zakaria to replace Mohd Nor Hakim Hassan and Muhammad Shahrul Nizam Ros Hasni in the second half, but still failed to find a goal.
On the other hand, the visitors through Faisal once again managed to silence the home fans in the 51st minute when he scored the third goal after receiving Mukhairi’s cross to put his team ahead 3-0.
Substitute Muhammad Aliff Izwan Yuslan added to the host’s misery when his team scored the fourth goal in the 80th minute, with the final result being 4-0 in favor of Selangor FC.
