Kedah Darul Aman step up to 5th rank after opening home beating Penang FC with a score of 1-0 in Northern Derby Match of Liga Super Malaysia 2022 at Darul Aman Stadium, Alor Setar.
In last night’s action, Kedah tried to dominate the competition at home, but the visitors through Endrick Dos Santos and Lucas Da Silva also showed off their fangs in the 4th and 24th minutes, but both attempts went astray.
Without any accurate attempts, Kedah finally got the best chance through Ngah’s strong shot in the 25th minute, but it was successfully deflected by Hafizul Hakim.
Kedah was once again empty when he failed to complete the opportunity in front of the opponent’s goal through the touch of Al Hafiz in the 31st minute.
Unfortunately for Kedah goalkeeper, Ifwat Akmal when he had to be removed due to a leg injury after colliding with a Penang player in the 33rd minute, and his place was taken by Shahril Saari. The score remained goalless in the first half.
Starting the second half, Aidil Sharin Sahak’s coached squad managed to break the deadlock through Ngah’s quick movement in the 56th minute after receiving a pass from Al-Hafiz for the home team’s first goal.
Kedah almost got two extra goals in the last five minutes of the second half through attempts by Dechi Marcel and Ngah, but both attempts missed the goal.
The score remained 1-0 until the final whistle was blown for Kedah to roar again.
