Kedah Darul Aman got the crucial goal in the last minute and tied with Perak FC scoring 1-1 in the Liga Super Malaysia 2024/25 at Stadium MPM, Manjung.
Both teams entered the match with high stakes, with Perak fresh off their quarter-finals qualification and aiming to maintain momentum. Meanwhile, Kedah sought to improve their position in the league standings.
The first half saw intense exchanges but no goals. Perak’s Jesper Nyholm came close in the 12th minute, only to be denied by Kedah’s goalkeeper Wan Syazmin Wan Ruzaimi. Wan Zack Haikal and Milos Gordic also threatened but failed to capitalize on their chances, leaving the scoreline at 0-0 at halftime.
Perak’s tactical changes in the second half paid off in the 71st minute when a VAR review awarded them a penalty for a foul on Clayton by Loqman Hakim Marzuki. The Brazilian striker confidently converted, giving the home side a 1-0 lead.
Despite Perak’s solid defensive efforts, Kedah remained persistent. Amirul Hisyam Awang Kechik salvaged a point for the visitors with a stunning 92nd-minute strike, silencing the home crowd and denying Perak a victory.
The result leaves Perak in seventh place with 18 points, while Kedah stays in 10th with 14 points. Both teams will look to regroup in their upcoming fixtures, with Perak facing Selangor on December 17 and Kedah hosting Penang FC on December 18.
