Laos Football Federation (LFF) has announced the appointment of Ha Hyeok-Jun, a 54-year-old South Korean, as the new head coach of Laos national team.
Ha, will oversee both squads of Laos national team senior squad and U23 squad, with his tenure set for two years.
Mr. Viphet Sihachak, President of LFF expressed confidence in Mr. Ha’s abilities to lead the teams, while Mr. Ha himself shared his enthusiasm for the role, stating, “I am very happy to be the head coach of the Lao national team and I promise to do everything to make the Lao national team successful.”
Ha Hyeok-Jun brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having held various coaching roles across Asia. His qualifications include an AFC/KFA INSTRUCTOR PRO-LICENSE, equivalent to an AFC Professional Diploma. His career highlights include:
- 2009-2011: Worked with the Korea Football Association (KFA).
- 2012-2013: Served as assistant coach for the Myanmar national team and the Myanmar U-23 national team.
- 2015-2016: Worked as a fitness coach for Beijing Beikong in the Chinese Premier League.
- 2016-2017: Became the head coach of Beijing Beikong in the Chinese Premier League.
- 2017-2018: Assistant coach for Suwon Samsung Bluewings, a top-tier South Korean club.
- 2019-2021: Head coach of Daegu National University’s football team.
- 2023: Head coach of Resources Capital FC in Hong Kong.
The primary mission of Ha’s is to prepare the Lao national team for the upcoming ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2024 and the second round of qualifying for the AFC Asian Cup 2027.
