Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin of PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha Maju Motor bagged the top spot on the podium in Round 7 of the PETRONAS Malaysian Cub Prix Championship for the CP150 category.

The race category began with Afif at the pole position, Azroy at the second position and Kasma at the third. In the beginning of the race, Afif strode confidently at P1 and held on to the spot for eight laps. While Azroy laid pressure on Afif in between the laps, Afif did not give in to the threats.

At the ninth lap though, Azroy succeeded in overtaking Afif and took over the P1 for the next eight laps. In the meantime, Kasma who was at P3 was already making his moves in closing the gaps between Afif who was at P2 during that time. At the seventeenth lap, Kasma found the perfect opportunity to glide ahead of Azroy when the latter made a mistake. At the same time, Afif too grabbed the chance and took over P2.

With three more laps to complete the race, Afif and Azroy who have been battling competitively continued the race to take back P1. However, Kasma who seemed steady on the circuit did not give in to the duo. At the last lap, Azroy took a fall at a turn consequently leaving the duo ahead in a battle for victory.

Kasma was relentless. He was not about to be defeated. He paced ahead with the right momentum and clocked in fastest at 16’12:434s.

Commenting on the race, Kasma said, “It is a blessing to have won in the hometown of my fiancée. Overall, my team has always been successful at this circuit. For the race earlier, I tried as much to reduce mistakes and control my pace.”

“There were many of the riders who made mistakes throughout the race which opened up opportunities for me to strike. I stayed focused and retained my momentum throughout.”

At the second spot, Ahmad Afif Amran of PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha – CKJ Racing clocked in at 16’12:841s.

Coming in third was Md Haziq Md Fairues of PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha Maju Motor at 16’17:795s.

For the CP125 category, Md Shafiq Rasol of ONEXOX TKKR Racing team grabbed the first place when he completed his race fastest.

Throughout the race, Shafiq was seen tailing Syafiq Rosli who had guarded his position at P1 relentlessly from the start to the last lap. However, Syafiq was defeated by his own machine when it began slowing down.

This immediately opened the pathway for Shafiq who put on a good show at P2 for 14 laps to make his move ahead. He completed the race at 12’55:063s

Commenting on the race, Shafiq said, “The race took a good start. I followed Syafiq throughout the race. Unfortunately, Syafiq’s machine gave way at the last lap. I took the opportunity to strike and ended the race first.”

“I am thankful to my team for all effort done to ensure that my machine was in a condition.”

Second place goes to Md Aliff Danial Md Asri of PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha Maju Motor who clocked in at 12’55:346s.

At the third place, it was Md Hafiza Rofa of ONEXOX TKKR Racing at 12’59:036s.

Meanwhile for the Wira KBS category, Md Adam Haikal Jahar of PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha – 31 Racing took the first place on the podium for Round 7 of the PETRONAS Malaysian Cub Prix Championship when he clocked in fastest.

The competitive race between the riders of the category ended when Adam who took the fifth spot on the grid put on a great performance in his bid to take on the top spot on the podium.

Throughout the race, although his teammate Md Danish Aiman Zamrul seemed to be the one putting on a good fight to maintain his position at P1, he together with the other riders who made a mistake opened up the opportunity for Adam to take over the P1.

From the 10th lap onwards, Adam played a good game when he managed to guard his position till the end of the race. He logged in at 10’34:413s.

Commenting on the race, Adam said, “I am thankful to my team who made a good preparation with the machine. It was our strategy to put on a good show and obtain more points for our team. However, at the end of the race, it was only myself at the podium.”

“I gave my best shot. Although Danish made a mistake, I did not rush to take the P1 instead I gave myself time. In the end, it worked.”

The second spot on the podium belonged to Md Farish Iqmal Elyas of Honda KC Racing who made it at 10’35:927s.

Coming in third was Md Farish Hafiy Sezli of Idemitsu Honda Yam Racing at 10’36:017.
