Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) were proud to unveil the team and livery of the JDT Racing Team participating in the Asian Road Racing Championship 2024 ASB1000 category starting in the middle of this month.
The JDT Racing Team would be using the Ducati Panigale V4R. It would be led by a local and former MotoGP rider, Hafiz Syahrin Abdullah, who already started undergoing pre-season tests at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit at the end of February.
Hafizh’s bike would be tuned by two mechanics specially brought in from the Ducati Racing Team, namely crew chief Loris Caroli and mechanic Edoardo Ardemagni who would be contributing their extensive experience in two-wheel motorsports.
JDT Chief Executive Officer Alistair Edwards said JDT as a whole was excited about the involvement in motorsports and hoped that the JDT Racing Team would be able to perform well in its first year in the ARRC.
“JDT’s involvement in two-wheeled motorsports is proof of JDT’s strong and expanding brand after being involved in football, ice hockey, rugby, futsal and boxing.
“This latest effort is aimed at further expanding the JDT brand to a global audience and opening the door to more collaborations with international companies,” he said.
Meanwhile, Hafizh Syahrin was delighted to be selected as a rider for this team and wanted to prove his ability to perform at ARRC 2024 while being assisted by the mechanics from Italy.
“Of course I am happy to be part of this project and I am grateful to the Regent of Johor for the trust given to me.
“With the help of the crew chief and mechanic from Ducati, I want to prove my ability by delivering success even though this is the team’s first year competing in the ARRC.”
JDT Racing Team would start the ARRC 2024 season at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand from March 15 to 17 before concluding the six-race championship at the same circuit from December 6 to 8, 2024.
