Veteran coach Irfan Bakti Abu Salim has officially taken the reins as head coach of Kelantan Red Warrior FC (KRW FC), marking a new chapter for the team.
The announcement was made by KRW FC management through a statement on the club’s official social media channels.
“Kelantan Red Warrior FC (KRW FC) officially announces the appointment of Irfan Bakti Abu Salim as Head Coach,” the club stated. “This appointment was made after a thorough assessment of the team’s needs and the vision it wants to achieve. Irfan Bakti is a coach with over 30 years of experience and his name is no stranger in Malaysia.”
Irfan, now 73, is tasked with implementing a playing philosophy that aligns with KRW FC’s identity while leading the main team to greater heights.
Irfan Bakti is a familiar figure in Malaysian football, having coached some of the country’s most prominent clubs, including Selangor FC, Terengganu FC, Negeri Sembilan FC, Felda United, and Kuching City FC.
Throughout his illustrious career, Irfan has won several accolades, including the prestigious FA Cup, and the Sumbangsih Cup, and achieved runner-up status in the Malaysia Cup. He has also contributed to the development of Malaysian football by leading the Malaysia U23 national team squad and gaining international coaching experience with the Indonesian club Persipura Jayapura.
