Singha Chiangrai stadium, Singha Chiangrai Stadium, has been severely impacted by flooding following dam failures in Myanmar, which have affected several provinces in Northern Thailand, including Chiangrai.
The flooding has caused significant disruption to the operations of Singha Chiangrai United, a club in Thai League 1, as the stadium, training ground, and club office are submerged, preventing players from practicing.
In response to the situation, Singha Chiangrai United has submitted a formal request to Thai League Co., Ltd., asking for a postponement of their upcoming away match against Nakhonpathom United, in the Thai League 1 2024/25 season, scheduled for Saturday, 14 September 2024.
The request is also driven by the cancellation of flights at Mae Fah Luang Airport, making travel to the match impossible.
Club president Mitti Tiyapairat announced that while the club has suspended all football-related activities, they are actively coordinating efforts to help flood victims. The club has opened its large meeting room to shelter displaced residents and is collecting donations of essential supplies to aid those affected by the disaster.
