Poland national team Continues the chance to win the next round successfully after beating the Saudi Arabia national team with a score of 2-0 in the FIFA World Cup 2022 group stage, group C at Education City Stadium.
In the action just now, Poland first opened the scoring through Piotr Zielinski’s attempt to beat the Saudi Arabian goalkeeper, Mohammed Al-Owais in the 39th minute.
However, the Herve Renard-led squad had a chance to equalize but Salem Al Dawsari’s penalty kick was denied by Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny at the end of the first half.
After Zielinski scored the first goal, Saudi Arabia had a chance to equalize but Salem Al-Dawsari failed to complete the penalty kick after being saved by the Polish goalkeeper.
It was too late for Saudi Arabia when a defensive error allowed Barcelona’s prolific striker Robert Lewandowski to score Poland’s second goal in the 82nd minute.
It was Lewandowski’s first goal on the World Cup stage after failing to do so in three matches with Poland during the 2018 edition in Russia.
Another Group C match will take place early tomorrow morning involving the clash between Argentina and Mexico.
Opportunities in Group C are currently still open with the fate of any team still not guaranteed to qualify for the round of 16
