Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) announced that it is awaiting the full written judgment from FIFA before filing an official appeal through the proper legal and procedural channels.
FAM confirmed that a technical error occurred during the document submission process, which was carried out by administrative staff. The association stressed that while the error is regrettable, the heritage players involved are legitimate Malaysian citizens, putting to rest any speculation regarding their nationality.
In a statement, FAM General Secretary Datuk Noor Azman Hj Rahman emphasized that the governing body views this matter seriously and is fully committed to resolving it transparently within FIFA’s legal framework.
“We have identified the technical mistake in the submission process. However, we want to underline that the heritage players in question are lawful Malaysians,” Datuk Noor Azman stated.
