Malaysian sensation Hakim Danish has officially announced his arrival on the world stage, clinching his debut Moto3 world championship points in a chaotic, high-intensity Round 2 at the Grand Prix of Brazil.
Riding for AEON Credit – MT Helmets – MSi, the young phenom turned heads at the Autódromo Internacional de Goiânia – Ayrton Senna, proving that he belongs among the elite after a weekend of raw speed and veteran-like resilience.
The weekend started with a statement. Hakim scorched the Goiânia tarmac during qualifying to secure Grid 3, marking his first-ever front-row start in the Moto3 class.
However, when the lights went out for the main race, the pressure of the front row eased slightly. A minor delay in his launch saw Hakim lose initial ground, but the Malaysian ace refused to fade, clawing his way back into the lead group to hunt for a historic podium finish.
The race took a dramatic turn on the 15th lap when a heavy crash involving Scott Ogden forced race direction to deploy the Red Flag.
With the race distance shortened to a 5-lap sprint for the restart, the grid was reset based on the standings from Lap 14. This placed Hakim on Grid 9, forcing him to fight through the “meat grinder” of the mid-pack once again.
In a relentless 5-lap dash where the pace was nothing short of suicidal, Hakim held his nerve. Battling shoulder-to-shoulder with the world’s best, he crossed the finish line in 10th place (P10).
In a race won by Spain’s Maximo Quiles (CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team) with a clinical time of 7:19.821 minutes, Indonesia’s Veda Pratama (Honda Team Asia) became the first Indonesian rider on the podium in a Grand Prix in P3, who clocked a following winner time of +1.650 seconds.
