Antonio Glauder, Spanish centre-back has been officially unveiled as the first signing of Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The 29-year-old’s arrival was announced via the official Johor Southern Tigers (JST) platform, signaling a fresh reinforcement for the Southern Tigers’ defensive line.
“We’ve got a new wall in defence! Welcome to Johor Darul Ta’zim, Antonio Glauder,” the club declared in a statement.
In a move that raised eyebrows, Glauder has chosen the No. 5 jersey, a number previously worn by fellow Spaniard and JDT stalwart Jordi Amat. This has sparked speculation that Amat could be on his way out of the club ahead of the new season.
Amat, a former Swansea City defender, has recently been linked with a move to Indonesia or a return to European football as his contract with JDT nears its end.
Glauder boasts an impressive résumé, having developed through the youth ranks of Barcelona, Villarreal, Espanyol, and Alavés, before featuring prominently for Spanish clubs CF Fuenlabrada, Eibar, and Albacete. He also gained international experience during a season-long loan with Croatian outfit NK Rudes in 2017/18.
His addition brings leadership, experience, and European pedigree to JDT’s backline as the Malaysian giants gear up for another ambitious campaign domestically and continentally.
